Why you should join us - students

Secondary school can be exciting and daunting in equal measure. At Pinner High School, the excitement is a tangible part of school life.

You’ll be joining a school that has the highest expectations of students and staff, delivering a broad and balanced curriculum in a calm and disciplined environment. This curriculum is designed to excite and stretch all students, so that everyone can reach their potential. The individual pastoral care at Pinner High School allows every student to excel in their own areas of strength. Extra-curricular activities are at the heart of the school, enriching students’ education, preparing students to have the skills and knowledge to progress successfully from school. Every Year 7 student visits HOAC (the Hillingdon Outdoor Activity Centre) in September to help them get to know their new friends.

I've been really fortunate to receive over 1000 applications from people hoping to work at Pinner High School. Teachers are keen to work here, and that has led to a productive, positive and exciting atmosphere throughout the school. We've already won lots of awards for the school, and students rated the school as 'Outstanding' in every category, as did parents and staff. Ofsted say the same, which tells us we are on the right track. We are delighted to be featured in the Parliamentary Review 2017, showcasing best practice in education nationwide. At the start of our third year, we were awarded the Silver Artsmark, recognising the strength of the arts, and performance opportunities across the school. Our Mandarin department won a National Teaching Awards Certificate of Excellence in 2020.

The chance to join a growing school is a unique one. The School Government make decisions about the development and growth of the school. The first students at Pinner High School named the school Houses themselves. The first members of the sports teams were involved in their kit design, and students have helped me prioritise the budget we have for the final part of our refurbishment. Exciting times are ahead!

At Pinner High School we get to know everyone very quickly. This personal touch is a key part of our ethos, that sits alongside the Pinner High School Values.

I hope to meet you soon.

Best wishes
