We open in

Music Lessons

Instrumental Lessons Academic Year 2020/21 - updated 10th July

In order to open the school to all year groups in September in accordance with new Government guidelines, it has been necessary to make a number of rooming changes to our timetable. This has left us with no suitable spaces to hold peripatetic music lessons.  This means that unfortunately we won’t be able to offer music lessons in school from September.

Please see the attached letter and information from Harrow Music Service about their Zoom provision from September.  Alternatively click on this link: HMS Lessons

The school will continue to offer financial support for music lessons to pupils entitled to Free School Meals (100% school contribution) and Pupil Premium Support (50% school contribution). Please contact the school if you have any questions or if you are unsure if you are eligible.

The school will also meet the cost of music lessons (15 minute lesson) next year for students studying GCSE Music.

For Free School Meals, Pupil Premium and GCSE Music students, please enrol your child for 15 minute lessons using the link in Harrow Music Service's information leaflet, and the school will follow up with Harrow Music Service regarding payment.

Update 29th April 2020: The online music platform is now live and you should have received login details for your child by email.  Charanga Login Page

We have received this statement from Harrow Music Service:

"Harrow Music Service have set up an online learning platform called Charanga in lieu of face to face teaching, that will be a positive learning experience and keep your child engaged with learning their instrument until we see them again.  The website aims to:

  • Give clear instruction on practising from week to week tailored to your child's group so that they maintain and even improve their technical skills with practice.
  • Enrich your child's musical experience through the range of resources provided in the lessons including: music to listen to, video clips and practical music activities to enhance their music skills.

Your child's HMS teacher, although they will not see the pupils, will be able to see who has accessed the Charanga site with their login.  They will feed this information back to the school."
