A Level courses pave the way for degree-level study at university.  At Pinner High School, Sixth Form students participate in numerous talks, activities and programmes to prepare them for both the applications process and life at university.  

Year 12
  • Weekly Form Time sessions dedicated to Higher Education and Careers
  • Form time sessions dedicated to money management
  • Online/in-person talks from university representatives
  • Period 7 'And Beyond' talks and assemblies focusing on Personal Statement preparation
  • Dedicated Higher Education Week (July) a week of activities designed to provide students with support, advice and guidance for preparing applications and personal statements
  • Permission to attend university open days and taster days
  • Whole-cohort visit to UCAS Exhibition (June)
  • Trips to St John's College Oxford and Christ's College Cambridge (our Oxbridge link colleges)
  • Online talk/Q&A for parents
  • Week of work experience (July)
  • Weekly Oxbridge Club: focusing on admission tests, critical thinking skills, choosing courses and colleges
  • Weekly Medics Society: focusing on 
Year 13
  • One to one support with personal statement writing and feedback
  • Programme of 'Survival Skills' - preparation for life at university 
  • Support from Head of Sixth form and Assistant Heads of Sixth Form with narrowing courses options and making final decisions
  • Personal Finance talks
