Why you should join us - students

Secondary school can be exciting and daunting in equal measure. At Pinner High School, the excitement is certainly building, and is tangible during our first year.

You’ll be joining a school that has the highest expectations of students and staff, delivering a broad and balanced curriculum in a calm and disciplined environment. This curriculum is designed to excite and stretch all students, so that everyone can reach their potential. The individual pastoral care at Pinner High School will allow every student to excel in their own areas of strength. Extra-curricular activities are at the heart of the school, enriching students’ education, preparing students to have the skills and knowledge to progress successfully from school.

I was overwhelmed by the numbers who visited us last autumn- over 1,000, and by the number of applications I received from families- almost 800.  I was really lucky to receive almost 300 applications for the 10 teaching posts advertised. Teachers are keen to work here, and that has led to a productive, positive and exciting atmosphere throughout the school now that we are open. I've already made some top quality appointments for our second year of opening.

The chance to join a small, growing school is a unique one. The School Government will make decisions about the development and growth of the school. The first students at Pinner High School named the school Houses themselves. The first members of the sports teams were involved in their kit design. Exciting times are ahead! I wrote the Trailblazers Guide below for all my new students so that they would know what to expect in September.

As a small school, I can teach everyone in year 7 by taking different classes for half a term each. This personal touch is a key part of our ethos, that sits alongside the Pinner High School Values.

I'd love to show you round the school. Do contact my PA, Mary Connolly mconnolly@pinnerhighschool.org or 0208 465 6280 to arrange an appointment.
